01
Interface profile
Built for direct, repeatable sheet cutting
With CAM-Pro and compatible Radonix controller hardware, the two-axis CNC controller interface is designed for XY plasma and oxy-fuel sheet-cutting machines without arc-voltage THC.
- Who uses it
- Fabricators, HVAC and ducting, signage, and general metalwork.
- Works with
- Two-axis flat-bed plasma and oxy-fuel cutters. An optional Z lifter supports pierce-safe approach.
- Compatible controllers
- PC Smart 4APC Smart 3ASPC-Pro LAN 4A
- Supported files
- DXF and standard G-code, including ArtCAM and PowerMill posts.
- Important
- This interface does not include Torch Height Control. For live arc-voltage height control, use XYZ Cutter + THC.
02
Machine architecture
Motion, I/O and safety in one operating view
Machine & kinematics
- XY gantry for planar motion on sheet stock.
- Optional Z lifter for approach, pierce height and retract—without closed-loop height control.
- Configurable work envelope, homing routines and soft limits.
Control & I/O
- High-rate step/dir motion with look-ahead planning.
- I/O mapping for torch on/off, gas and oxygen valves, purge, alarms, beacons and the full E-stop chain.
- Safety interlocks for doors, guards, over-travel and pressure or flow checks.
- Arc-voltage inputs and THC logic are not used by this interface.
03
Software workflow
From drawing to monitored production
- 01Load
Import DXF or G-code and review the toolpath preview.
- 02Set origin
Verify the sheet alignment and choose the working origin.
- 03Apply settings
Define kerf, leads and pierce rules without THC.
- 04Simulate
Dry-run the job to confirm limits and cutting order.
- 05Run
Monitor pauses for clamps, consumables and operator checks.
- 06Record
Save reports and notes for traceability and repeat work.
04
Interface capabilities
Production functions, clearly separated
Software & workflow
- Import DXF/G-code, preview toolpaths and apply kerf or offset automatically.
- Lead-in and lead-out styles: arc, radial and tangential—with pierce dwell and height retract macros.
- Corner smoothing and arc handling to maintain cut speed and edge quality.
- Priority ordering from inner to outer, plus automatic pause points.
- Job Queue & Repeat, simulation and torch-off dry-run.
- Run reports for cycle time, cut length, pierces, pauses, restarts and operator notes.
At a glance
- DXF/G-code import and nesting-friendly workflow.
- Kerf compensation, lead rules, pierce dwell and retract.
- Single-block step, demo run and resume from pause.
- Soft limits, interlocks and E-stop handling.
- Automatic job logs and quick recall.
Direct DXF execution
Load and execute DXF files without G-code conversion, reducing setup time.
Component and path management
Select parts from complex drawings and customize cutting order.
On-screen editing
Scale, rotate and mirror parts with live toolpath previews.
Flexible part placement
Drag parts onto irregular, pre-cut or remnant sheet stock.
Advanced pause controls
Use independent pause points before, during and after the cut.
Reverse cutting mode
Reverse toolpaths to manage material warping or final exit points.
Simulation / demo run
Test the complete toolpath without activating the torch.
Flat-sheet cutting capability
Process flat-sheet profiles from DXF or standard G-code with coordinated X/Y contour motion.
THC upgrade compatibility
This XY interface does not regulate arc voltage. Use the dedicated XYZ Cutter + THC interface when automatic Z-axis height control is required.
