Core capabilities
Configure, connect, test and produce with one scalable LEGO platform for motion, machine automation, I/O and service tools.
Control up to 16 physical or virtual motion axes with a 1 ms (1000 Hz) update rate, EtherCAT servo connectivity and up to four independent ToolPaths.
One Micro-MM gateway connects the modular I/O system. Sixteen stable module positions support scalable machine layouts, while communication interruption triggers a controlled stop and returns outputs to zero.
Each LEGO DM module provides 8 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs. Up to 8 DM modules provide a total capacity of 64 digital inputs and 64 digital outputs.
Up to 2 LEGO AM modules provide 4 analog inputs, 4 analog outputs and 4 PWM channels. Up to 2 LEGO EM modules provide 4 × 32-bit encoder inputs; encoder-module availability is subject to final qualification.
Technical data
Use the verified specifications below to evaluate electrical, motion and integration requirements.
| Feature | Specification |
|---|---|
| Motion control | Up to 16 axes; 1 ms / 1000 Hz control update; EtherCAT servo connectivity |
| Motion paths | Up to 4 independent ToolPaths for separate coordinated motion processes |
| Digital I/O | Up to 8 DM modules; 64 digital inputs and 64 digital outputs |
| Analog, PWM and encoder | Up to 2 AM modules: 4 AI, 4 AO and 4 PWM; up to 2 EM modules: 4 encoder channels |
The LEGO architecture provides 16 addressed module positions and supports up to 12 current-family modules simultaneously: 8 DM, 2 AM and 2 EM. Remaining positions are reserved for future LEGO modules. Confirm final machine safety, E-stop design and application approval during integration.
