Controller selection by axis count

3-Axis, 4-Axis, 5-Axis and 6-Axis CNC Controllers

Axis count defines motion capacity, but controller selection must also verify drives, I/O, tools, safety and the HMI.

Technical selection FAQ

Questions before choosing a CNC controller

Can Radonix control both servo and stepper motors?

Yes, when the connected drive accepts the required Pulse and Direction command interface. Servo encoder feedback is normally closed inside the servo drive.

Should I select a controller only by the number of axes?

No. Also confirm drive compatibility, I/O, process equipment, tooling, safety interlocks and the required HMI.

Which Radonix controller fits a 4-axis CNC machine?

PC Smart 4A and PC-Pro LAN 4A are candidate platforms. The final choice depends on the complete machine architecture and I/O requirements.

Does Radonix provide a controller for a 5-axis bridge saw?

Radonix documents an XYZCA bridge or disk-saw route. Saw functions, water, camera workflow, compensation, I/O and safety must be confirmed.

Can Radonix provide a custom interface for an OEM machine?

Yes. The interface is configured around machine-specific screens, commands, alarms, tools and workflows.

Can Radonix be used for new machines and retrofits?

Yes, subject to engineering verification of drives, mechanics, sensors, I/O, process hardware and safety.
