XYZA Rotary
  • 4-Axis
  • Used in Cutting CNC machines

Introduction

One-line value prop: Precise cylindrical machining and engraving with diameter-aware wrapping, index/continuous A-axis control, and safe restart.

Who uses it: Furniture & decor shops, mold & pattern makers, sign/ornament producers, small-parts machining, tube engraving/marking.
Works with: 4-axis routers/engravers with headstock + tailstock (chuck/collet/faceplate), indexers, or direct-drive rotary tables.
Compatible controllers: PC-SMART 4A / PC-PRO LAN 4A

Supported files:  standard G-code (e.g., ArtCAM / PowerMill posts)

Machine & Kinematics

  • X-Y gantry motion with Z vertical and A-axis rotary (continuous or index).

  • Wrap (cylindrical) mode: unwraps flat DXF/G-code around a set diameter or measured circumference.

  • Index mode: step A to programmed angles for multi-face machining.

  • Programmable work envelope, homing, and soft limits for all axes.

  • Headstock/tailstock I/O (chuck clamp, tailstock lock) and optional steady-rest.

Control & I/O

  • High-rate step/dir with look-ahead for smooth A-axis blends.

  • Discrete I/O mapping for spindle/tool ON/OFF, chuck clamp, tailstock, beacons, and full E-stop chain.

  • Probing/Touch-off: Z tool setter and A-zero (keyway/mark) macros.

  • Feed options: mm/min or feed per revolution (FPR) where supported.

Software & Workflow

  • Import DXF/G-code; choose Wrap or Index strategy; enter/confirm part diameter.

  • Automatic tool radius compensation/offset; lead-in/out and ramp/helix entries.

  • Corner smoothing and arc handling to maintain constant surface speed.

  • Simulation with rotary preview and collision/limit checks before running.

  • Resume from last G-code line with safe re-entry (spindle, clamp, SafeZ verified).

Key Capabilities (at a glance)

  • Cylindrical wrapping of DXF/G-code by diameter

  • Index or continuous A-axis machining

  • Tool comp, lead-in/out, ramp/helix, corner slow-down

  • Z touch-off & optional A-zero macros

  • Safe restart from last line and job reporting

Standard Workflow

  1. Home machine; clamp part; set diameter (or measure).

  2. Touch-off Z and set A-zero (mark/key).

  3. Load DXF/G-code; choose Wrap or Index; apply tool/entry settings.

  4. Simulate with rotary preview; verify limits and clearances.

  5. Run job; monitor clamps and beacons; use Pause for checks if needed.

  6. Resume or Restart from last line after any interruption; save job report.

Key Features of Radonix CNC Software

🔹 Six-axis router support:

Coordinate XYZ + up to three rotary axes (A/B/C) across wood, stone, milling, mold-making, and dental machines—up to 6 simultaneous axes.

🔹 RTCP (Rotation Tool Center Point):

Keeps the tool tip exactly on the programmed path during 5-axis rotations—no re-posting when you change head lengths or pivots.

🔹Multi-spindle heads

Run spindles synchronously or sequentially with per-spindle ON/OFF, RPM, offsets, and tool numbers.

🔹 Automatic tool changing:

Works with linear, rotary/carousel, and jack magazines—full clamp/unclamp sequencing, interlocks, tool table, and safe recovery.

🔹 Automatic Z tool offset & referencing:

Touch-setter cycles capture tool length (and optional diameter) for accurate depths and wear compensation after each change.

🔹 3D toolpath & rotary visualization:

Preview the job in true 3D with live A/B/C angles to verify reach, orientation, and motion before cutting.

🔹 Floor (depth) limit:

Enforces a maximum Z penetration so the tool never cuts past the programmed floor—protects the table, fixtures, and laminated stacks.
