Machine architecture

Machine & Kinematics

3-Axis CNC Controller for Tangential Knife Cutting machine architecture

Machine & Kinematics

  • XY motion with automatic C-axis orientation keeps the knife blade tangential to the programmed contour.
  • Absolute/Relative X, Y, C readouts, Velocity (mm/s) display, Home / X0 / Y0 buttons, and per-axis V (mm/s) & L (mm) step boxes for precise jogging.

Control & I/O

  • High-rate step/dir motion with look-ahead planning.
  • I/O mapping for knife lift/retract, hold-down, tool-ready signals, alarms, beacons and the full E-stop chain.
  • Inputs: HomePin X/Y/C, Emergency, Z-Axis sensor,  Jack sensor, Foot , optional Laser edge sensor.

  • Operator keys: Run / Pause / Reset, Speed 100% override slider / Auto Align tools.

Interface capabilities

Key Features of Radonix CNC Software

Software & Workflow

  • Import DXF/G-code, preview cutting paths and apply knife orientation and blade offsets.
  • Configure tangential alignment, corner strategy, lift-and-turn behaviour and tool-change sequences.
  • Corner smoothing and arc handling to maintain cut speed and edge quality.
  • Priority ordering (inner → outer) and automatic pause points for clamp moves or checks.
  • Job Queue & Repeat for batches; simulation / dry-run before cutting.
  • Run reports: cycle time, cut length, tool use, pauses and restarts; operator notes are saved with the job.

Key Capabilities (at a glance)

  • DXF/G-code import and nesting-friendly workflow
  • Blade-offset compensation, contour-entry rules, corner strategy and lift/retract control
  • Single-block step, dry run (knife lifted), and resume from pause
  • Soft limits, interlocks, and E-stop handling
  • Automatic job logs and quick recall
01

Direct DXF Execution

Seamlessly load and execute DXF files without the need for G-code conversion — streamlining your workflow and reducing setup time.

02

Smart Component & Path Management

Select specific parts from complex drawings and customize cutting order with intuitive control over toolpath sequencing.

03

Interactive On-Screen Editing

Scale, rotate, and mirror parts directly within the interface — with live toolpath previews to ensure precision.

04

Flexible Part Placement

Manually drag and drop parts onto your material sheet to accommodate irregular shapes, pre-cut stock, or remnant reuse.

05

Advanced Pause Controls

Set up to three independent pause points — before the cut, during the cut, and after the cut — for manual checks or operational adjustments.

06

Reverse Cutting Mode

Reverse a prepared toolpath when material direction, grain or the preferred finishing point requires it.

07

Simulation / Demo Run Mode

Perform a complete dry-run motion test with the knife lifted to verify the cutting path and machine travel.

08

Printed-Material Registration

Orient the tangential knife automatically while cutting flat flexible-material contours.

09

Tangential Blade Orientation

Automatic C-axis orientation keeps the knife aligned with the programmed contour during cutting.
